J&K Submission of ‘Life certificate’ by pensioners  extended till January 31

Jammu, Nov 26: The Finance Department has extended the date for submission of ‘Life certificate’ by pensioners or family pensioners to January 31, 2022.

In pursuance of rules, the pensioners drawing pension through treasury or bank are required to produce ‘Life certificate’ once in a calendar year i.e., by November end every year. However, owing to the prevalent COVID-19 restrictions or guidelines it was not feasible for all the pensioners, particularly the old aged pensioners, to submit their certificates in time.

“Hence it has been desired to extend the date of furnishing of life certificates by the pensioners and family pensioners up to January 31, 2022,” read a circular issued by the Finance Department.

The circular noted that the date for submission has been extended to avoid rush at bank or treasury while maintaining social distance and to facilitate the elderly pensioners to furnish the mandatory ‘Life certificate’ to the concerned authority of bank or treasury.
