Dehradun: A 46-year-old man was arrested from Haridwar on Tuesday for allegedly raping his 14-year-old minor daughter. According to police, the incident came to light after the girl got a police complaint registered against her father with the help of her paternal grandfather, who brought her to the city police station on Tuesday morning
Inspector Ravindra Kumar said that the accused, who works as a labourer, was sexually assaulting her daughter for nearly a year. “He threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone. However, two days ago, the girl broke down and narrated her ordeal to her mother,” added Kumar. Police have lauded the girl and her mother for their courage.
