The Kashmir Monitor journalist Hirra Azmat wins the prestigious `Project Siren Award 2022′ 

SRINAGAR: Senior correspondent of The Kashmir Monitor Hirra Azmat has won the prestigious Project Siren Award 2022.

Hirra has bagged the award for her story headlined, “Life is beautiful’: IMHANS, SRO set up `Zindagi’ to prevent suicides, promote positive behavior in Kashmir”.

 The story was published in the newspaper on May 22 last year. It was the first story that highlighted the depression-related suicides and new initiatives to promote positivity in strife-torn Kashmir.

“We are pleased to share with you that your article “`Life is beautiful’: IMHANS, SRO set up `Zindagi’ to prevent suicides, promote positive behavior in Kashmir” has been selected as a winner for the ‘Project SIREN award 2022’,”  India Mental Health Observatory (IMHO), Centre for Mental Health Law and Policy said.

The award was formally announced on September 10. “We will be sharing the winning article and your details on that day. Again, congratulations on the recognition of your responsible reporting on suicide.,” IMHO said.
