PAK vs ENG 2022: Pakistan Pacer Naseem Shah Believes In Performing In Crunch Moments And Is ‘Hopeful’ For ‘Good Contest’ Against England

Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah made his T20I debut against arch-rival India in the Asia Cup 2022, and he picked up the important wickets of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. After performing well in the Asia Cup, the pace bowler was named in the 15-man World Cup squad.

In an interview with Geo News, Naseem Shah emphasized the importance of team requirements. He said that as a bowler he prefers to take the most important wickets for his team. Shah believes that having an attacking mindset toward every batter is the key to success.

As a bowler, I’ve to go after every batter, but it is important to work according to the team’s requirements, the wicket you take when the team needs it the most holds more value than other wickets and those are always special for me,” Naseem was quoted as saying to Geo News.

The right-arm fast bowler will be part of Pakistan’s T20i squad for the seven-match T20I series against England after a good performance in the Asia Cup 2022 in UAE. Despite the absence of Jos Buttler due to injury, the pacer does not look to undermine the Three Lions in any way.

Excited For England Series At Home: Naseem Shah

Naseem expressed his excitement that he will play against England at home before the T20 World Cup to be held next month. The youngster is expecting a competitive contest between the two teams.

It is always exciting to play against a top side on your home soil, I am hopeful of a fair contest between the two sides, we are arriving here from the Asia Cup with good form, so it will be a fruitful series,” he stated.

Naseem believes that the England players are familiar with the game conditions as they have already played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

“Several England players have played in Pakistan before, during PSL and they know about the conditions and opponents. They’ll play according to their strength and we’ll play according to ours. It is our condition and we know our strengths well,” Naseem added.

The first of seven Twenty20 Internationals between Pakistan and England will be played in Karachi on September 20. The series will be a warm-up for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia next month.
